I last posted four weeks ago. In that time WordPress changed everything again. Or else my COVID19 brain is more flawed than I thought. I was excited to write again after a period of silence. I’m disappointed in WordPress and myself. Anyway I send my apologies for the mess I produced. Best wishes to you stalwart writers.
Ina, well done! I have tried to many frustrating hours trying to make this work. While I am not opposed to change, I do find it difficult to understand how this block editor works. I wish it were easier or that the classic editor were easier to find. I’m still trying.
I’m with you. I will be happy to find again how to single space the lines. I hope I’m not reduced to writing prose.
Maybe you already know this. But if it’s stuck on double spacing and you can’t fix it, you can hold down ‘shift’ and hit ‘enter’ and it will only drop down one line.
It’s tedious and slow, but sure.
That’s what I do when WORD is set up wrong, you can always use shift to go down only one line.
Thanks so much for this information. I am self taught and/or accidentally proficient at using my computer. At least I am no longer afraid I’ll break it if I experiment.
WP is a royal pain in its disrespect of those who wish to keep things simple.
I can still use Classic editor… if you want some help…
Thanks for your offer of help, Dale. I have the directions you gave me last time I had trouble with the Classic Editor. They worked then. Now I can’t locate the Admin. page. I’ll try again.
Darn it! They really don’t make our life easier, eh?
Agreed.
Welcome back. WP has become a pain, I spend more time cursing it’s complexity than writing. (Ommmm, breath out…..) 😊
My sentiments exactly, Bill. And the worst of it is while I’m fumbling around WP wants to sell me an APP to accomplish what I’m failing to do. 😦
I’ve not had that, such an invasive system.
And it is not just WordPress. AOL is worse.
I don’t use AOL, WO is stress enough. We can get past this, I hope so!
I plan to figure out something workable. At least I found out how to single space so writing Haiku is possible. You already know how.
I get there by seemingly different routes each time and have given up on a couple of occasions.
I do know about alternative routes. I think it is the smart thing to do to give up sometimes. I have a stubborn streak that pushes me beyond sensible limits.
Comes with being a poet!
I love your comment!
😊
Totally understand your frustration. Im struggling to get to grips with it too 😦
Best wishes to both of us.
Please don’t give up. It wouldn’t be the same without you. We’ll figure this out
Thank you, Rose. I am contemplating going in a new direction and journaling my upcoming knee replacement surgery. My main character besides myself is my friend, a Drive rollator walker.
You’ll be going in style! A couple of friends have raved about that one.
My friend who just had her knee done said the nurse only let her have her walker for a week
Thanks for passing on your friend’s good progress, People are giving me helpful tips that make the journey seem easier.
What I usually hear is that it’s a hard journey, but everyone who has done it, has been glad they did
Yes, my doctor led off his consultation by telling me how hard and painful the procedure will be. And I am clearer than ever that I need it. Thanks for your affirmation.
