Sometimes everything has to be enscribed across the heavens so you can find the one line already written inside you. Sometimes it takes a great sky to find that small, bright, and indescribable wedge of freedom in your own heart. David Whyte

Apologies

on May 29, 2021

I last posted four weeks ago. In that time WordPress changed everything again. Or else my COVID19 brain is more flawed than I thought. I was excited to write again after a period of silence. I’m disappointed in WordPress and myself. Anyway I send my apologies for the mess I produced. Best wishes to you stalwart writers.

Ina, well done! I have tried to many frustrating hours trying to make this work. While I am not opposed to change, I do find it difficult to understand how this block editor works. I wish it were easier or that the classic editor were easier to find. I’m still trying.

I’m with you. I will be happy to find again how to single space the lines. I hope I’m not reduced to writing prose.

      • Maybe you already know this. But if it’s stuck on double spacing and you can’t fix it, you can hold down ‘shift’ and hit ‘enter’ and it will only drop down one line.

It’s tedious and slow, but sure.

That’s what I do when WORD is set up wrong, you can always use shift to go down only one line.

Thanks so much for this information. I am self taught and/or accidentally proficient at using my computer. At least I am no longer afraid I’ll break it if I experiment.

WP is a royal pain in its disrespect of those who wish to keep things simple.
I can still use Classic editor… if you want some help…

Welcome back. WP has become a pain, I spend more time cursing it’s complexity than writing. (Ommmm, breath out…..) 😊

  4. Totally understand your frustration. Im struggling to get to grips with it too 😦

  5. Please don’t give up. It wouldn’t be the same without you. We’ll figure this out

Thank you, Rose. I am contemplating going in a new direction and journaling my upcoming knee replacement surgery. My main character besides myself is my friend, a Drive rollator walker.
