Tarp covering pool
Lounge chairs stored for the winter
Declare summer’s end
Yet hard to believe
Squirrels still gathering acorns
Fall sunshine beams warmth
Not a bad trade-off
Bright colored leaves and white snow
Will come in due time

Nice
Thanks.
I wonder sometimes about winter in Ohio. is there much lake effect from the north? Would Spring and Summer come sooner if Jim Jordan were replaced by someone who is not a junk-yard dog?
This is not the usual weather here. We used to get lake-affect snow and piles of it. I consider that this year is a result of climate change. It is weird.
Wonderfully done! We are in full crazy colour here in Montreal. I love this time of year.
Now you have reminded me… must get my pool closed!
I would love to see your fall colors, Dale. Here we wonder if there will be any because of the warmth.
I’ll be doing my “Walktober” post soon so you’ll get an eye full!
Great. I look forward to it.
🙂
Very evocative. I love the colours of autumn leaves – if only the rain lets up enough for us to go out to enjoy them. There’s nothing better that scrunching through mounds of fallen leaves, crisp with frost.
I’m hopeful that leaf-scrunching time will come, too.
lovely thoughts to take us into a new season.
Thanks, Alison.
Autumn has definitely come here now, but still we get some days of warm sunshine that belong to the summer.
We’re still waiting. It was 80 two days ago. 🙂
We’re up to the squirrels still gathering acorns up here!
Our squirrels must think alike. 🙂
