Haiku: Faint Warmth

on January 30, 2019

Dark and frigid dawn
Coldest of the year and yet
Crescent moon beams glow

Later on the sun
Very welcome imposter
Called me out to play

  1. I saw that moon, it was comforting in the cold

  2. I thought the moon looked amazing this morning, with Venus and Jupiter bright beside it in the sky, but I’m glad you got a little sun too!

    Nice Haiku! Thank you!

  4. Dale says:

That was lovely. We had a blinding sunshine to fool us into thinking we’d not freeze our noses off by going out there. And now, the wind comes in gusts!

    Hello Ina,

I read the news – yes, for me in Singapore it is only news – that even the water in the toilet has frozen up. Gosh!

Yes, up there, that crescent moon comforts – as long as a howl does not accompany it. Especially when the tank is empty and one is trudging in the cold on a country road to the nearest gas station to fill up a can. Brrrr.

    Stay warm, stay safe,
    Eric
