Sometimes everything has to be enscribed across the heavens so you can find the one line already written inside you. Sometimes it takes a great sky to find that small, bright, and indescribable wedge of freedom in your own heart. David Whyte

Challenging Time

on September 2, 2018

When first I began posting crone chronicles
Enriched by Word Press 101 prompts
I sat at my computer catching ready-made stories
Tumbling from a lifetime of rich memories
Lovely to go back and re-member the past

Seems as if now life around me is changing
Much new is good, much more terrifying
Past seems an irrelevant line drawn in the sand
The who I was then needs refurbishment
What I live and write now creates  past for my future

  1. This reminds me of the Hemingway quote Obama used at John McCain’s funeral:
“Today is only one day in all the days that will ever be. But what will happen in all the other days that will come depends on what you do today.”

Love this, Ina. Living in the now is best. It’s lovely to look back if all we do is look and reminisce… it’s those who stay stuck back there we have to worry about.

  3. This is so profound! I like the way you think out loud and make me think!

  4. It sounds as though you’re at a real transition point Ina and sometimes those turn out to be the most exciting (if also challenging!) I hope you make lots of great memories in your ‘now’.

Some etch on stone. Others write on sand. Each to his own, they say.

Writing on sand. Every day, the waves wash away. Every day, new lines. New life.

    Peace,
    Eric

Our feelings run similar. Your crafted expression of them most excellent. Thank you for just a lovely visit on your website. Always such a pleasure.
