Nourishment in many forms
Stories appear that please my soul
Kindness offered without charge
At my local grocery store
Monday specials called to me
I headed out with handy walker
Whose compartment’s storage space
Has room for Lean Cuisine
Six-box limit I well know
And how to pack groceries myself
I skillfully rearrange my food
After checking out
The bagger that day newly hired
Packing while I paid my bill
Had ideas of his own
Of just how things should go
When I stopped to do my thing
Repacking groceries properly
I saw amazed his handiwork
Surely had done the job for me
It was too late to go back
To thank this wonderful young man
I hope he felt the joy I found
Exchanged in his creative gift
Loved it.
Thanks, Dennis.
Wonderful! There are good people all arounnd us… helping out with the little things that seem so meaningless to one but so important to another.
Yes, Dale. These little things make my day.
The best!
I so enjoy how your every day experiences turn into such extraordinary lines.
Thanks so much, Janet.
Gifts come in all varieties and many packages. I’m glad you shared this
Thank you. 🙂
It makes all the difference to our day when someone does just the right thing for us at the time.
You are so right, Andrea. 🙂
That is so sweet
Thanks, Lynn.
I assume this was based on a true incident. In which case, you met an angel that day I reckon Ina.
He must have felt your joy. Bless that young man.
Happy for you too,
Eric
Yes , it was a real incident. I think he must have felt good within himself for giving me a gift even though I didn’t thank him. Sort of like the old “virtue is its own reward”.
There is something so gracious about this slice of life poem. Thank you.
Thanks for your lovely comment, JoHanna.
