Exploring the poetry of everyday life
More easily said than done these days
Time to reset and center myself
Face facts that changes warping the world
Seem to be settling in for a long haul
Poetry is not dead Heaven forbid
This lifeblood of humans flows deep in our veins
Hidden beneath horrors spewed out in the news
Goodness and glory in shapes still unseen
Kindness and God’s grace yet will prevail
So true. So true.

Thanks, Janet.
We just need to focus on the good rather than the bad…
I absolutely agree with you, Dale. Thanks.
Change and acceptance are so hard to navigate at times. I always admire your poems, such a gift when we can paint our feelings in words.
Thank you for your comment. I appreciate your encouraging words.
There’s a great sense of strength and hope pushing through the bad here Ina.
Thanks for pointing this out, Andrea. I’m glad it came through as strong and not wishful thinking. I do feel better since I expressed my thoughts in writing.
True – goodness makes for poor copy in the media world that feasts on mayhem and horror.
But the silent majority – the bedrock of humanity – holds much hope. We will continue to use our words for things and thoughts better.
Peace,
Eric
Thanks for your sound thoughts. I’m responding to goodness more and more in my writings.
