Exploring the poetry of everyday life

Time Traveling

on April 26, 2018

Abundant memories like post cards in a drawer
Souvenirs remind me of once-upon-times
Bewildering exhausting thoughts swirling around me
Leave me truly feeling that I’m lost in space

I’m packing my suitcase to travel to Mexico
Yet one more time after twenty good years
The flight a challenge to my flagging energy
Can I pull it off once again?

New wrinkle this time – I don’t go alone.
A call from my brother-in-law
Asking me about laundry
Put things in perspective

Later that day walking home from the grocery
Mundane moment the sort that is suitable
For mulling and musing and hoping for answers
Then voila! one arrived when I opened my door.

I breathed in bright energy from the present moment
The space I inhabit is filled with Now.
This is my anchor, the place where I start from
Who knows when or where I will fly?

  1. You certainly can pull anything off energetic lady. Enjoyed reading this👏

  2. I am sure you can do anything! You are so amazing!

  3. I marvel at your continual reinvigoration and your fortitude – as for me, even though I cannot get out and about anymore, I don’t miss traveling – having traveled and retraveled the world on business over 35 or so years, I’m happy to never again pack a bag

During my corporate days, I had a heavy travel schedule. Now, I take leisurely jaunts – and love them.

Go for it – enjoy 🙂

  5. I am excited for you, and inspired. I have a trip I have been putting off, and I find myself starting to make plans.
Have a good, safe trip. I look forward to your reflections when you return.

More than ever, the thoughts of travel have move slightly from the “I cannot wait to head out to wherever” to the “Another flight ~ do I even have the energy?” Wishing you happy trails ahead.

Thanks for your good wishes. My spirit propels me through but my energy lags. The trip is wonderful none the less
