Sun shining brightly
Through grocery store window
Trombone’s golden sounds
Matching the brilliance
Dixie Land jazz
Sent my feet toe-tapping.
I reached in my billfold
Made a gift to the hungry
Nearby Girl Scouts selling their cookies
And fond memories of delicious Thin Mints
Picked up on the trombone
Got into the groove
Formed a dazzling chorus line
All on a usual Saturday morning.
Broadway at the grocery store
Who would have imagined.
That was absolutely wonderful, Ina! I want to go shopping there 😉
Thanks, Dale. I would love to have you come along. ❤
😀
I think I need to find a better class of supermarket
LOL!
I think everyone, including the poem, got jazzed. What a wonderful feeling your poem describes.
Thanks. I’m so glad you felt what I did. I wanted to share it.
Now that’s a 3-in-1
Do your shopping, enjoy some music, and help out someone.
A Saturday well spent, I reckon 🙂
Thanks, Eric. That store is sort of like a traveling road show with the various people who show up to entertain and give us a chance to contribute to their cause – like the rowing crew from the high school. I hadn’t even known they existed.
Oh my gosh, so much fun!
It was, Lynn. It made my day!
I can imagine
Those cookies are calling me 😉 I’ve got your book and look forward to the read xx
Many thanks, Christy. I hope you enjoy reading my book. ❤
Now this is what I need when I’m out and about, especially doing my shopping. “Broadway at the grocery store, Who would have imagined.” This may be the secret to life right here, making every place you go your own Broadway show, the Girl Scout cookies being the encore 🙂
“The Girl Scout Cookies being the encore”. I love this. I have another post about the wonders happening at the grocery store. I’ll find it and point it out to you. Thanks for your delightful comment. 🙂
Dalo, for the other grocery store marvel look at my post for Nov. 16, 2017 titled Futuristic Cart
Wash.
Oh Yes Toe tapping Dixie Land! Love it. Delightful poem sharing a light hearted day. Thanks
Thanks, Eileen. Glad you liked it.
Wonderful post!
Many thanks!
I’m with Paul Lenzi- I need a better shopping experience!
This is just such a lighthearted joyful poem you have written. An activity that we all engage in and your fresh and happy experience is described so vividly.
Thank you. – JoHanna
Hi JoHanna. Thanks for joining in my happy morning.
Oh, I like this! I can imagine Broadway at the grocery store. I have The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame below me. 😀
Lovely! Thanks for your comment.
