Senryu: A Revelation

on October 9, 2017

Charmed by the brief form
Inspired by life’s happenings
Wrote many Haiku

Then I awoke to
Expanded definition –
A “human” Haiku

Perfect description
Poetry I’ve been writing
Instead is Senryu.

With appreciation to Colleen Chesebro who teaches me good things

a “human” Haiku. I like that!!

  2. I, too, have written many senryu – but for simplicity of tagging and filing I call them all haiku – however, my book “Riverthink” contains only senryu, haiku and tanka

Paul, thanks for the practical information. It makes sense to use Haiku as a basic category. I downloaded “Riverthink” into my Kindle. I’ve read a bit and Net Worth speaks to my time in life. Thanks.
