Sometimes everything has to be enscribed across the heavens so you can find the one line already written inside you. Sometimes it takes a great sky to find that small, bright, and indescribable wedge of freedom in your own heart. David Whyte

Haiku: Natural Eclipsing

on August 22, 2017

Prepared for eclipse
Geared with paper and pin holes
Awaiting big show

Image on paper
Tiny, less than impressive
Till someone noticed

On patio stones
At our feet there were crescents
Shadows abounding

New way of viewing
Sunlight shining made shadows
Through oak leaf pin holes

It sounds like a change of perspective was needed ๐Ÿ™‚

It was fun to “see” the eclipse without modern technology.

  4. Denzil - Life Sentences says:

Lovely haiku. I think the best photos of the eclipse are those of reflections and shadows

  5. So spooky Ina, I’ve just read this post: https://susielindau.com/2017/08/21/viewing-the-eclipse-by-looking-down/ – what Susie shows in images, you show in words ๐Ÿ™‚

I just looked at Susie’s photos and they are exactly what we saw yesterday on our patio. Thanks for making the connection for me.
