Gray today and drear
Rain obscures bright colored leaves
Monochrome abides

Geographically speaking, your today, was my yesterday. East is east and west is west and ne’er the twain shall meet.
Funny isn’t it.
Disappointing, but a tiny preparation for the coming winter. We have had a very warm sunny October. In fact, we need rain rather badly. (But I don’t think anyone’s complaining.)
Mostly a shock how the change from sunny days suddenly turned bleak affects me. And rain is a good thing. Enjoy your sunshine.
The other day was so dark and your haiku reminds me of it.. I want to see more light 🙂 You pen the season of autumn so well in your writing xx
Thanks, Christy. Autumn and winter skies are the most striking to me.
Beautiful as always
Thanks, Lynn.
There have been some gorgeous coloured dawns this week, but on Friday we too had a grey one that washed out the autumn colours.
It’s raining now and warm enough to have my windows open. It is peaceful to listen to the leaves dripping.
I wonder how that would translate on canvas if one was to paint the scene. Full of feeling methinks.
I’m glad you can “see” the scene. It was a sad and gloomy day.
I hope tomorrow is more colourful and gay.
Thanks, I hope so too. Yesterday was lovely. I don’t know which of my days is your tomorrow.
