Sometimes everything has to be enscribed across the heavens so you can find the one line already written inside you. Sometimes it takes a great sky to find that small, bright, and indescribable wedge of freedom in your own heart. David Whyte

Gift of a Gloomy Day

on July 1, 2016

Wearied by warm sun and perfect days
Soft rainfall today refreshes me
I think the birds are happy, too
Singing mid morning in the dripping trees

It’s like a crystal goblet’s ding
Reminding of glass blower’s artistry
Wisdom of Creation knows us well
To drink it in requires yin and yang

I like the polarity, it’s sort of harmonious… that second stanza is quite superb đŸ™‚

Yes. Love the crystal comparison and agree on the yin and yang. Recently soaked in the softness and relief of a “crystal” day sparkling outside the window also. Lovely description.

  3. I love this Ina – we’ve had the opposite, rain and few perfect days, but I love the way you focus on the birds and their delight at the rainfall and the ‘dripping trees’.

Good to hear about your summer. Thanks for your comment. I do love the birds. There a pair of cardinals I hear daily but can’t always spot high in the tree branches.
