Tomorrow I fly away to West Virginia to a Crafts Center to engage in a class on creative writing. I’ll be back with new ideas and energy in a couple of weeks.
Haiku: Patch Work
Memories unique
Filaments of time gone by
Rearranged in mind.
No two are alike
Even in same family
Tales shape crazy quilt.
Haiku: A Different Tune
Once upon a time
Rhythmic rocking chairs on porch
Uncles, aunts spun tales.
Now new harmonies
Ear buds create inner beat
Grandkids deaf to past?
Haiku: Eternally Spring Hopes
Subtle change occurs
Cooling breezes warm my heart
Winter chill is gone.
Tee shirts put away
Pulled from chest have fresh appeal
I feel young today.
Haiku: Heavenly Fanfare
Warm sun carpets floor
Bare toes wriggle in delight
Arms outstretched I breathe.
Birds fly tree to tree.
Open window lets in breeze
Calls me to come out.
New buds everywhere
Dandelion’s yellow stars
Constellation Spring.
Haiku: Uncertain Conclusions
Yesterday was warm
Today went out minus hat
Shivered in the cold.
So the wise ones say
Single sparrow not a sign
Season change complete.
Haiku: Altered Plans
April-foolish trick
Snow last night a fairyland
Turned to ice today
Sidewalk crackling sounds
Signal walk at your own risk
Wise to wait for spring
