Sometimes everything has to be enscribed across the heavens so you can find the one line already written inside you. Sometimes it takes a great sky to find that small, bright, and indescribable wedge of freedom in your own heart. David Whyte

Writing 101- Unfolding the Unknown

on September 9, 2015

Of all the words on the list for today’s prompt the one that lured me was Uncertainty. The more I sat with it the more layers I recognized in the word.

Uncertainty full of possibility
Gives off a hint of leaving
Comfort zone and striking out for
Unknown windmill tilting.

Like slick ice threatens balance
Counter measures are called for
To depart long-fixed habit
For compelling course correction.

Not many really welcome change.
But wait, perhaps smooth sailing lies ahead
Dream-fulfilling gifts remaining
Mystery till you relinquish shore of certainty.
