Dreary airport sounds.
Calls to flights and cancellations
Conversations cell phone drone
Weariness pervades my bones.
People-watching changes scene.
Dramas large and small
Engage me with human race
Bringing smiles to my face.
Seeing families deplane
I spy a little boy
Following his mom and dad
Two smaller sisters in their arms.
His four-year-old self, I gage
All seriousness and firm endeavor
Pulling his own roller bag
Spider Man his hero buddy.
My heart filling to brim
I could not stop my face’s beam
Suddenly he turned his head
Shyly smiling back at me.

Thanks for the pingback. Most of all thanks for DungeonPrompts that inspire me to write. π
Ah yes, I can see that little one taking life so seriously in his tiny roller suitcase. Lovely!!
Thanks for your comment. He was a dear little boy.
People watching can enliven any type of waiting – I can picture the little boy with his case π
Thanks for your comment, Andrea. π

I appreciate the pingback.
Nothing quite like seeing joy to help spread it ~ just coming off a lot of travel myself, your thoughts here should be what all travelers carry along.
Thanks for your lovely comment.
Ohhhh, this is one in place for one of your best. You captured such a determined, adorable young spirit with this one. I also feel you very strongly here.
Yes, he brought joy to me . As the mother of three sons and grandmother of four I have a special place in my heart for little boys. I am grateful that you hear my feelings speaking through my words.
