Spirit breathes on earth
Yearning to bind savage wounds
Of a shattered world.

    Seems there are so many tragedies in the news currently that this poem could so well describe. Made me wonder what the actual prompt for this was.

      More than one event prompted me. I’ve been constantly aware lately of the suffering of people the world over and these feelings moved me to write the haiku. Thanks for your comment.
